Solo Trip to Fort Casey

We are both going to take the occasional solo van trip. My first outing was over to Fort Casey State Park. I drove around to Deception Pass going up. Stopped for 2 or 3 hours at Rosario Beach for lunch, explore, and a 30 minute nap.

I was able to stay right on the water and the weather was great. Site 14 at a cost of 37.00/night. No water, sewer, or electric. There was water just across from my spot, showers and bathrooms a couple hundred feet away. Right from my site easy walk to the top of the gun emplacements. Weather was beautiful. The Olympic Mountains stood out. The ferry landing was very close so fun to watch that activity. On the second day took my bike on the ferry to Port Townsend. Spent the day riding around the area- Fort Warden, parks, dodging deer, lunch at the Co-Op. Talked with two German doctors on the ferry ride. They had rented a Cruise America RV. One downside. Night of the 7th three fighter jets did night drills over head. For 90 minutes it was loud. Very loud.
